Eran Cien Ovejas
Eran cien ovejas
Que había en el rebaño
Que había en el rebaño
Eran cien ovejas
Que el Senor cuidó
Pero en una tarde
Al contarlas todas
Le faltaba una
Le faltaba una
Y triste lloro
Le faltaba una
Le faltaba una
Y triste lloro
Las noventa y nueve
Dejo en el aprisco
Y por la montaña
A buscarla fue
Y por la montaña
A buscarla fue
La encontró gimiendo
Temblando de frío
Curo sus heridas
La tomo en sus brazos
y al redil volvió
Esta misma historia
Vuelve a repetirse
Todavia hay ovejas
Vuelve a repetirse
Todavia hay ovejas
que perdidas van.
Vagan por el mundo,
Vagan por el mundo,
sin Dios, sin consuelo.
/Sin Dios, sin consuelo,
y sin su perdon.
Las noventa y nueve
Dejo en el aprisco
Y por la montaña
A buscarla fue
La encontró gimiendo
Temblando de frío
Curo sus heridas
La tomo en sus brazos
Y al redil volvió.
Curo sus heridas
La tomo en sus brazos
Y al redil volvio.
I found this english translation of the song and it was well done so that you can get the gist of it, it is by AlwayzGodsBaby and can be found at this link:
One Hundred Sheep
One hundred sheep, there was in the group. One hundred sheep that the Lord cared for.
But one afternoon, after counting all, there was one missing, there was one missing, and He sadly cried.
The ninety-nine, He left in hurry, and went through the hills, seeking after it.
He found her weeping, trembling of cold, healed all her wounds, took her in His arms, and took her back home.
This very story is continually repeated. There are still sheep that are lost.
They walk through the world, without God and comfort. Without God and comfort, without forgiveness.
Although there are different versions to the song, whether it be a Shepard or the Lord looking for the missing sheep it is the same basis. One lamb goes astray and it is IMPORTANT and LOVED enough for the Lord to go look for it. Not even did the mountains and cold stop him from retrieving His lost sheep.
++++++++ Questions may arise in your head so let's look at some of them ++++++++
Why did the sheep go astray from the Lord?
We are sinners and God's sheep at the same time. When we sin against God we turn our backs on him and go our own ways, in our own beliefs and in our own time.
We are sinners and God's sheep at the same time. When we sin against God we turn our backs on him and go our own ways, in our own beliefs and in our own time.
If we are such sinners why did the Lord search for the sheep who walked away?
This is simple. God gave His SON for us because He loved us ALL so much! Christ sacrificed His LIFE for the will of His father and the love of the world. Beautiful isn't it??? Christ gave his life for OUR sins, that was OUR crucifixion that He endured! HE TOOK THE PAIN FOR US! Amen! We are underserving of such a love but He sealed His love for us IN BLOOD. God didn't turn His back on us then and does not do so now. He wants all of his children ALL of them to be in His care and mercy. And when one sheep, you are I turn away and walk from him, He weeps that we've gone astray!
If the Lord loves all the sheep equally then why did He search just for the one and leave the rest of the sheep behind?
The group of sheep was already following God's will. They were safe in His care. But the one that left the safety of Christ was just as loved and He knew that the sheep needed His protection and care. So He went to find it. No sheep left behind! No sheep less important than the rest! No sheep undeserving of His mercy. When your flock is well taken care of the obvious action is to take care of the one who needs help the most.

My Story: The Lamb of Jordan
One day a water bloated lamb approached the Jordan river. This lamb had been up and down the land drinking from all of the rivers simply due that it was able to. Even though the lamb wasn't thirsty it still felt the need to drink. As it lowered its head to the water to drink it saw a reflection in it. A booming voice called the sheep and said "Lamb, do not drink these rivers". The lamb confused looked up and asked "But why can't I drink of these rivers? I've drank from almost all of the rivers this land has to offer. And why not this one?" The booming voice was heard once again and the answer was clear "If it is thirst for life drink from the book of life, if it is thirst for knowledge drink from My word, and if it is a thirst just because you can do so, prepare to parch yourself. For not even the river of Jordan can quench your thirst". The sheep looked up into the clear blue sky and asked "But why then Lord did you bring me to the river if not to drink from it?" The booming voice at last replied "My sheep, I brought you to the river not to indulge in your pleasure. I brought you to the river so that you may see your reflection and take heed that carnal pleasures will never satisfy. I brought you to the river so that you may realized that the sheep staring back at you from these waters is full with the river in it's belly but not full of My word. As long and deep as all of the rivers are in the world so is My love for you, dear sheep."
Great analogy.. there continues to be people who are lost with hope and a future. If only they knew that was the reason Jesus gave His life at the Cross. He bared our iniquities so that we could have a Hope and a Future with Him. I most rather accept that there's a place that I will be without any pains and no sorrows.
